Welcoming Andrew Champagne as EduNova's new President and Chief Executive Officer
July 25, 2025
The Board of Directors of EduNova is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Champagne as the organization’s next President and Chief Executive Officer.
Andrew brings more than a decade of cross-cutting experience in international education, government relations, and policy and program development.
He began his career with Global Affairs Canada working with Trade Commissioners to position Canada as a premier destination and supporting the roll out of the EduCanada brand. At the University of British Columbia, he led international student recruitment initiatives across Asia and Europe, deepening his expertise in global engagement and partnership development.
Since joining Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) in 2017, Andrew has held progressively senior roles in areas related to marketing, recruitment and student mobility. Notably, he led the implementation of Global Skills Opportunity, Canada’s first national outbound student mobility program, on behalf of CICan member institutions and in collaboration with Universities Canada. He currently serves as Director of Programs and Partnerships, where he leads a team delivering a portfolio of projects that harness the expertise of member institutions to drive impact and address local and global challenges. In doing so, he builds strategic partnerships and supports federal policy engagement in areas related to education, immigration, and workforce development.
Andrew is widely recognized for his collaborative leadership style, ability to navigate complex policy environments, and success in forging impactful partnerships. He brings to EduNova a strong global network, a deep understanding of Canada’s post-secondary and international education landscape, and a proven track record of uniting diverse partners around shared goals.
“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew to EduNova as President and CEO,” said Dr. Robert Summerby-Murray, Chair of EduNova’s Board of Directors. “His deep experience in international education, commitment to collaboration, and strategic vision are perfectly aligned with EduNova’s mission. We are confident he will bring strong leadership and fresh momentum to the organization and our members across Nova Scotia.” He added, “On behalf of the Board, I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Chantal Brine for her dedication and leadership as Interim President and CEO over the past several months. Her steady guidance and commitment have been instrumental in supporting the organization through this important transition.”
Reflecting on his new role, Andrew shared: “It is an honour to join EduNova at such a pivotal time. I have a deep appreciation for what the organization has accomplished over the past 20 years and the leadership role that Nova Scotia plays as Canada’s Education Destination. I look forward to working with the Board, our members, and partners across the province and beyond to continue building the province’s reputation as a global leader in international education.”
