EduNova Highlights and Updates: November 1 - 15

Welcome to the November 1-15 edition of our Nova Newsletter! We're thrilled to bring you the latest updates and exciting developments from our dynamic community. In this issue, we spotlight the launch of the IDP Connect Study Atlantic Canada Campaign and the Language Sector Marketing Campaign, both of which aim to raise the profile of our region as a top destination for international students. We also share highlights from EduNova's presentations at the CBIE Conference in Ottawa, where we showcased the programs offered in Nova Scotia. These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to international student success, collaboration and growth in international education. Let’s dive into what's happening...

Study Atlantic Canada IDP Connect Marketing Campaign 2024

We are excited to share the launch of the highly anticipated Study Atlantic Canada Marketing Campaign in collaboration with IDP Connect! This one-of-a-kind initiative brings together nine leading post-secondary institutions to collaboratively promote Nova Scotia as a premier international education destination for students. As we work to rebuild brand trust and navigate challenges facing the "Study in Canada" brand, this campaign showcases Atlantic Canada's rich academic offerings, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes.

Through this campaign, we aim to attract undergraduate students from five targeted global markets (India, Bangladesh, Vietnam and the UAE) by academic program, spotlighting the exceptional experiences that await them in our region. We are deeply grateful to ACOA for their generous support of this project and look forward to highlighting the unique value of studying in Atlantic Canada. Stay tuned as we continue to make waves in international education!

Launch of the Language School Marketing Campaign

We're excited to share the next chapter in our Language Sector Marketing Campaign with the launch of several new videos this Fall! Building on the momentum from our previous updates, these videos spotlight the unique strengths and diverse offerings of our member language schools. Each video provides an inside look at the vibrant communities that flourish within these institutions, showcasing the incredible opportunities available to language learners in Canada.

We invite you to explore the series on our YouTube channel, and we hope you'll join us in celebrating the richness of language education. Thank you for your continued support as we highlight the exceptional language programs that are shaping the futures of newcomers to Canada!

The 2024 NSISP FAM Tour

We’re looking forward to setting off on the 2024 NSISP FAM Tour, where we will be taking 48 grade 12 international students on an exciting four-day cross-province tour of Nova Scotia! This unique experience will give students interested in studying post-secondary education in our province the opportunity to visit some of Nova Scotia's most renowned institutions. The tour will include visits to Dalhousie University, University of King's College, Saint Mary's University, Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), Mount Saint Vincent University, St. Francis Xavier University, and Cape Breton University.

Students will have the chance to explore campus facilities, learn about academic programs, and engage with faculty and students, giving them a firsthand experience of what it’s like to study and live in Nova Scotia. We look forward to showing these bright future learners everything our province has to offer!

EduNova at CBIE 2024 in Ottawa

EduNova had a strong presence at the CBIE Conference in Ottawa this year, where our President and CEO Shawna Garrett delivered two presentations. On November 6, 2024, Shawna joined a distinguished panel for the session titled "A Step Towards Ethical International Student Recruitment: New Perspectives on Agent Training Management in Canada". Together with Imad Al-Sukkari (Cambrian College), Elyse Pipitone (Edified), and Ganesh Neelanjanmath (iCent), the presentation compared and contrasted EduNova's Training Program to the new Ontario College Program. The panel explored ways to enhance ethical practices in international student recruitment, an important and controversial topic as the landscape continues to evolve.

Later that day, Shawna was on a panel for  "Building Inclusive Communities through Tech-Driven Internationalization: The Nova Scotia Model", alongside Michael Holmes (Acadia), Ganesh Neelanjanmath (iCent), and Kellie McMullin (NSCC). In this session, the panel shared how Nova Scotia is leveraging technology to create a more inclusive and seamless experience for international students, from recruitment through to graduation and settlement.

EduNova is grateful to be at the forefront of these conversations, showcasing how innovative practices in international education are making a positive impact on students’ journeys in Nova Scotia.
