Leadership Announcement: Welcoming Andrew Champagne as EduNova’s New President and CEO

We are pleased to announce that Andrew Champagne has been appointed as EduNova’s next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 15, 2025.

Andrew brings over a decade of experience in international education, government relations, and strategic partnership development. He joins us from Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), where he currently serves as Director of Programs and Partnerships, leading major national and international initiatives, including the implementation of Global Skills Opportunity, Canada’s first outbound student mobility program.

His previous roles include positions with Global Affairs Canada, where he supported the rollout of the EduCanada brand, and the University of British Columbia, where he led international recruitment strategies across Asia and Europe. Andrew is widely respected for his collaborative leadership style, deep understanding of the post-secondary landscape, and ability to unite partners toward shared goals.

“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew to EduNova,” said Dr. Robert Summerby-Murray, Chair of the Board. “His strategic vision and commitment to collaboration are well-aligned with EduNova’s mission. We look forward to the energy and insight he will bring to the role.”

The Board also extends sincere thanks to Chantal Brine, who has served as Interim President and CEO. Her leadership has been instrumental during this period of transition.

Andrew shared, “It is an honour to join EduNova at such a pivotal time. I look forward to working closely with our members, partners, and communities to strengthen Nova Scotia’s position as a global leader in international education.”

Please join us in welcoming Andrew Champagne to the EduNova community!

Staff Update: Amanda Johnson Transitioning to New Role

Please join us in congratulating Amanda Johnson, EduNova’s Marketing, Communications, and Student Recruitment Coordinator, as she steps into a new role as Undergraduate Student Recruitment Manager with Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Computer Science. However, it’s not goodbye, as she will continue working with us in a part-time capacity, focusing on key marketing and recruitment projects.

Amanda has been instrumental in strengthening our student recruitment efforts, deepening engagement with our institutional partners, and championing international student success in Nova Scotia. Her creativity, strategic thinking, and commitment have made a meaningful impact on our work and the broader community.

Please join us in thanking Amanda for all that she has contributed to EduNova and in wishing her well in this next chapter. We’re thrilled she’ll remain connected to our work and the international education sector in Nova Scotia as she takes this exciting step in her career.

Celebrating Our Study and Stay™ Capstone Cohort 9 Graduates

On July 17, we proudly celebrated the graduation of our 103 graduates from over 27 countries from the 2025 Study and Stay™ – Nova Scotia Capstone Cohort. This milestone marks the completion of a ten-month journey of personal and professional growth for some of Nova Scotia’s top international student talent.

For these students, graduation is more than just the end of a program — it represents their commitment to building a future here in Nova Scotia. Their drive, leadership, and resilience have been inspiring, and we’re excited to see the impact they’ll continue to make across the province.

This success would not be possible without the continued support of our community members, partners, and especially our funders. Your investment in this program is what makes it all possible, from delivering meaningful programming to creating life-changing opportunities for international students. Your mentorship, collaboration, and unwavering belief in these students’ potential are instrumental, not only in their individual journeys but also in reinforcing Nova Scotia’s reputation as a welcoming and opportunity-rich destination. We are deeply grateful for your commitment.
